Hey friends, this has been a long time coming!
I've previously avoided creating a newsletter. Why?
The short answer is, I’ve been laser-focused on creating visuals.
I am a firm believer that to succeed in one thing, we have to go all in?
This month, I spent some time procrastinating about which platform to use, how frequently, and when I should post. But today, I just said f**k it. No more delays.
But why now? Well, you might know that I left my 9-5 back in August this year. So technically I should have a bit more time on my hands?
But it turns out, that being a freelancer can be quite demanding. There is a lot to take on board, not least understanding all the business side of things.
So that’s not the reason, but I think I ought to be able to make time for a Newsletter.
The main reason is that I’m scared.
Not of the monsters under my bed, but of the possibility that I could have spent this year building a community of 100k on Instagram and 10k on Twitter, for it all to be gone overnight, God forbid should something happen!
It is widely talked about that owning a newsletter can give ‘creators’ a sense of security. Nobody can take an email list away from us.
It’s low risk. I get it.
The only problem is, why make a newsletter for the sake of making one? There has to be burning passion, excitement, and drive to share value in this format.
Recently, I think I cracked the nut.
Substack allows me to share, what I want to call, ‘voice notes’ along with the articles and visuals. I can use this feature, not to transcribe, but to summarise my ideas and to give a little update from me.
I am always sending voice notes back and forth to my fellow visual creators, and I want to give you the opportunity to get to know me. I want it to feel like I am talking to a friend, because well I am.
As I sit and reflect on 2022, I can guarantee you I’ll be emotional.
Don’t worry, it’ll be happy tears. I am so grateful to be connected to this awesome, supportive, and kind visual community, may it continue to thrive and grow.
So what are my plans?
To keep it authentic, I’ll start by publishing when inspiration strikes
Each time, I’ll share recent visuals and dive deep into current a 'Floating Thought'
I'll also give you a flavour of what I have been up to as a ‘creator’
I know you’re busy, so I want to keep these newsletters short and snappy.
I’ll probably fail a few times. Bear with me while I find my rhythm and voice.
All the love, Hannah aka Quoted Visually x
Awesome use of the voice notes feature Hannah!
Tempted me now to start a newsletter in 2023, and go deeper with the voice note.
It’s brilliant :)
Subscribed to see how you develop and watch your journey unfold :)
Keep going!

Finally 🙌.
The voice notes are great! I can't wait to hear more from you, a great first newsletter. Excited to see more visuals from you in these too and hear you talk about the process behind them. What a great insight in your mind.
Can't wait for the next newsletter and visual. Always a fan!
